# Xyce

Xyce support is deferred. Monata's current native simulator path is ngspice
subprocess execution.

Future Xyce work should add a native renderer/runner pair behind the same
`SimTask`/`SimResult` boundary used by the ngspice backend. It should not add a
compatibility layer around another Python simulator interface.

Deferred Xyce tasks are tracked in the maintainer {doc}`../maintainers/roadmap`.
